#007 Oh Oh Oh Christmas!
Happy Christmas holidays guys! My instagram is filling with all sorts of traditional and unconventional Christmas decorations and I was super excited to host our small family Christmas dinner this past week-end before I fly to Bali for a long awaited vacation.
Throwing a dinner can take up a good amount of time so I wanted a chic yet casual atmosphere and sticked up for a simple color palette and a few details... I dressed up the tree with white and silver ornaments with different sizes and finishes — matte, shiny, transparent, glossy bulbs and stars. To make the gifts a little extra special, I did an homemade wrapping paper with golden paper and metallic stripes with red and gold sparkly mushi tape. When it came to the table setting, I used a silver table cloth on which I spread silver and gold stars and vintage emerald candle holders. They were complemented by a centerpiece made of two steel candle holders and a bouquet that included fresh marguerites, silvered branches and greenery. The dark grey ceramic plates were decorated with Scandi inspired white and silver napkins, golden branches and red pieces of origami paper with the chalked initial of each guest. Here, the corail wall warms up the ambience and the candles and light playing on it gave us all kind of shades from soft pink to bright orange tones. Of course, the table wouldn’t have been complete without clementines that threw in the air the Christmas smell. Food served was oysters (with an old yet incredible pomegranate mignonette recipe from the blog aftertaste and a surprising bloody mary recipe from sweet paul mag), a crostini party, deer with chestnuts and green beens, a plate of French cheese and an homemade blueberry crumble with lemon meringue ice cream. To keep it fun, the soiree was jazzed up with a Christmas’ classics playlist and a game of Truth or Dare.
I’m looking forward to see more of your Christmas happenings on my feed!
